I'm not really a console gamer, I build my own gaming PC's and game mostly on PC. So I was working on an old gaming PC from 2018 I built (ryzen 2700x with rex 2080) on an AM4 AMD platform and decided to upgraded it to a 5800x3d. I found a good deal on eBay that was too good to pass so I took a leap of faith (I don't usually like buying used chips/computer parts for most of the time there's a possibility they're used for mining or other stuff that wears them out). Luckily, this one was almost semi-new with original box and packaging. After updating mobo (Bios update), l seated CPU but the CPU cooler mount felt off. PC wouldn't turn off, and I decided to take it apart once again. Unfortunately I pulled it off too fast/too much strength and the CPU pins bent. I tried to re-align them myself but unfortunately I ended up breaking one of the pins (top left one) as it got badly bent. I was really lucky that it was only a ground pin. I know some are not vital for the CPU due to some of them being for ground, but still needed to get the others straightened out. I looked online for micro soldering places and came across Cyber PC Laptop repair on google and called them. Gabriel (Manager) answered and told me to come in (this was on Sunday). I went and he quickly got to work with the CPU. He inspected it, and re-aligned the bent pins. He cleaned the pins too as there was some thermal paste in it (facepalmed myself because I made so many mistakes with this upgrade). He gave me advice as well as to what to do to make sure I can get to post. He told me if it didn't work I could bring the PC/Mobo so he could look at it and make sure all pins are aligned correctly (Its AM4 y'all... AM5 is so much better when it comes to mounting the CPU). I got back home and hoped for the best. I did everything again and cleared CMOS. Voila, it worked! A few benchmarks (Cinebench r23) confirmed the 5800x3d was healthy and performing really well. I was so happy because this computer now has a new upgrade and a few more years left in it, probably 3-5 more years with the way things are going in the PC space due to AI. I was really mad that I bent a CPU like an idiot since I've been building PC's for gaming for a while now. I am giving this PC to my dad as he is learning to use computers, and so he can use it for work - and it's all thanks to Mr Gabriel and and CyberPC Laptop. I will definitely come again if I ever have other technical repair needs and recommend to others, 10/10!!
